Mom and Paul came for a visit this weekend. It felt too short, but it was great to spend time together. I think we'll have to make a plan to go to Michigan for a few extra days after school is out.
Oliver had is first taste of Blue Moon ice cream, but it didn't go so well (ice cream cones often end in tears). Too much "blue, sticky goo". Our hands ended up stuck together, and I started wiping his face on his shirt.
We visited the river park a couple times to swing. "I want wild push, Mommy!"
We got out to the zoo this morning, but only made it about an hour before it started raining. We stayed for a while so that we could see the monkeys, but ended up cutting the trip a bit short.
The zoo train broke down while we were on it today. We had to be evacuated 75 feet to the nearest exit. After waiting not-so-patiently 10-15 minutes for someone to escort us the 75 feet, we decided to walk it on our own. On our lengthy 75-ft walk, zoo employees followed behind us lecturing about the danger of choosing to disembark on our own and how they would have appreciated it if we had remained seated. All-in-all, it was a very pleasant experience.
